Much less expensive than anything I found in store. It’s pretty comfortable and that’s all I care about. Even the dog and cat think it’s wonderful!

If you are AT ALL sensitive to smells, or have allergies, DO NOT buy this product. The smell is terrible. Like another reviewee, I too thought it was the plastic packaging it was sent in. After two weeks, trying to sleep on it, air it out, use fans, dousing it with febreeze, the smell was still there. My PJs would smell like te foam, and I’d have to take a shower in the AM again to get the foam smell off of me.
On the plus side, it is very comfortable. It helped turn my creaking/springs coming through the pad comfortable and soft again. Unfortunatley, I just don’t think I’m going to be able to continue to use it.
I got it, it smelled for about a week, and the smell went away. It works fine for what it is; a piece of foam. Like I said, it’s no memory foam. It heats up due to your body temp, and has become discolored. It’s not uncomfortable though. I was just looking for a higher quality cover. I really ended up getting what I paid for though, since it’s pretty inexpensive.
Great value for the price, and definitely adds comfort to a mattress that is too firm.
It’s a fine product, but it’s too soft for me. I found that it remains inprint and sag after each used.
The mattress pad was good value. The merchant revised the shipping date after I indicated that I needed it sooner than scheduled. It arrived early. Like most foam products, it needed to be aired for several days to lessen the chemical odor.
My bed was entirely too hard to get a good nights sleep on, then I found this item while browsing for mattresses. It is perfect! It contours to my shape and I have slept like a baby since I received it! The price was about half of others I looked at. Thanks!
I bought the twin 4 inch topper for my son’s bed after my husband and I got a new (expensive) mattress. My son was complaining about how firm his bed was. The downside was that after being wrapped in plastic, the foam had to be aired out for 3 days or so to get rid of the chemical smell. Was it worth it? Absolutely! The foam is supportive yet it cushions, “carresses” even as you lie on it. I’m jealous of my son’s bed now! He absolutely loves it and sleeps beautifully all through the night. No complaints. I needed to use extra deep sheets to cover bed and foam but that works great. Fantastic product at a great price. Very happy.
I bought this for my sister, who had been sleeping on a very hard twin mattress. Since using the mattress topper, she said she is sleeping better than she ever has in her life. Good quality and incredibly comfortable.
The product was exactly what it said it was. I putnit on my bed and could feel the difference. This product is amazing and everyone should have one. My nights sleep is so much better than before thanks to this product.
I was really impressed with this memory foam pad. I bought it because my bed was a little too hard for my taste, figuring this would make my bed a little softer. It did make my bed softer, and much more comfortable, but what really surprised me was just how much better I slept. I would recommend this to anyone who isn’t totally happy with their bed. The price and quality make this too good a deal to pass up
I ordered this topper for my daughter July 30th and thought it wasn’t supposed to arrive for 2 1/2 weeks. The day I received the “thank you for ordering” letter was the same day I received the topper–a mere week after I’d ordered the product. She hasn’t used it yet, but the service is second to none.
I bought this for my son who is starting college. He absolutely loves it. The mattresses are pretty old, but this makes it feel new. It is a tad long, but that’s fine. He is very tall, so better to be a bit long than too short.
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2ZMGUFI6ADJ8T Note: The video does not have sound. I just wanted to show you some footage of what you were contemplating buying since the internet has relatively no pictures of this product.
Ok. I’m here to rate this pad because honestly, the other reviews were “about as useless as a poopy flavored lollipop.” – Patches O’Houlihan. First, I’ll tell you my situation so you can accurately assess whether or not this pad is right for you. I got a new mattress about 6 months ago and I’m dissatisfied because it’s not as firm as I would like it to be. I’m a stomach sleeper because laying on my back gives me back pains when my butt sinks and lumbar isn’t supported. My bed’s starting to sag in spots and I was waking up a lot every night to change positions. I got this in hopes that I would have sounder sleep, which I would absolutely love. Now on to the review.
Soft Sleeper has this “great new ‘Visco Elastic’ foam”. HAHA! Lemme give you a vocab lesson real quick.
Viscosity- Resistance of a fluid or other material. Water has low viscosity, Honey has high viscosity.
Elasticity- A property of a material when it returns to its original shape after the external force under which it deforms is removed.
So their high tech Visco Elastic foam just means it resists pressure (poorly I might add) and then returns to its normal shape. So ‘Soft Sleeper’, you can throw that technical jargon crap out the window. I’ve never came across a foam pad that wasn’t “Visco Elastic foam”.
But anyways, this pad arrived about a week after I ordered it. Came via FedEx in a kinda large box. Opened it immediately to find it packed in plastic with a slight vacuum. A small pocket knife will do to unwrap your new present. I was shocked and a little skeptical because this pad is just a piece of foam. You won’t be impressed with its look. It honestly looks like a sheet of cheap foam. I laid it on my bed immediately and was very pleased to find that it fit very well – see video. (Twin size pad fits a twin size bed, awesome). The pad has a slightly slimy feel, so be sure to have sheets handy. I threw on my sheets, which still fit, and hopped in my new bed.
The initial laying down feels nice, but nothing more. Don’t expect this to be some miracle sleep wonder. It’s just a piece of foam, with NO MEMORY. That’s right. If you sit in it and watch TV or play video games for a while, you’ll leave a crease, but that’s the extent of the memory. Just take a look at the video. I clearly show you in the beginning the pad has 0 memory. After opening, you’ll soon notice your room start to fill with an intriguing smell. I sensed a strong pumpkin guts smell with a hint of gasoline. Not entirely nauseating, but still annoying. I couldn’t wait to sleep on it, so I took my chances and slept with the smell. No problem. I woke up with no headache, and the pumpkin smell was nearly gone in just one night. But was my sleep quality any better?
I think slightly if any. Sure, it makes your bed softer. But that’s not a good thing if your bed isn’t firm enough in the first place. This pad, for me, would work a lot better if it were about twice as dense. So I would have to tell anybody with a bed that’s too soft, this isn’t going to do much for you.
MISC
*The pad tends to stick to the sheets and bed pretty well, but will still shift out of position about 2 inches in any direction over the course of the night.
***EDIT*** The pad shifting is a pain in the butt! (figuratively, of course) I don’t sleep exactly in the center of my bed so the pad slips 1-2 inches every night and is a pain to get back straight again. It tugs at my sheets when shifted and eventually rips the sheets off the corner of the mattress. This is a very big drawback. I’m not sure if all pads shift, but this annoys me so much I’m thinking about just removing it altogether.
*The pad breaths very well. It doesn’t trap a lot of heat, which I really like.
*The foam looks fairly durable, so it should last a few years at least. As long as the ‘Visco Elasticity’ can hold up.
***EDIT*** While trying to re-shift my pad on my mattress after i awoke, I pinched the pad and sheet to move it and a small chunk of foam got ripped off (about the size of an upside down ‘Hershey’s Kiss’).
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it to you if your bed is not firm enough. But if your bed is too firm, this might be just the thing you’re looking for. The $30 price tag seems slightly steep for a piece of foam, but again, what doesn’t work for me might be perfect for you. I tried to give you as much information as possible to lead you in the right direction, but it’s going to have to be your gut instinct on whether you buy it or not. And if I left something out that you would like to know, feel free to comment on my review. I get email notification on comments and I will be quick to reply if you need some more information. I hope I have helped you in some way and not wasted your time. Thanks for reading.
I have a memory foam on my bed and wanted something similar on my daughter’s bed. This was more like an eggcrate foam than memory foam. It was a waste of money. Just spend the money on a thicker foam.
I bought this foam mattress pad for my husband who is deployed and sleeps on a rather crappy cot type mattress and as a result was having lots of back pain. This was the best looking foam mattress I could find without it costing a small fortune, and he said it has helped a lot. Definitely good value for the money then, and was happy with the shipping and vendor as well.
This is 2 inches of regular foam (egg crate), but not memory foam. It’s not as elastic, or as dense as it should be. I guess I’ll have to spend the $89 for a real one.
I’m sure that this will come across as slight to some, but after a 24 hour grace period to let the pad expand, it was only 3.5 inches in thickness. I’m not returning the product, but if you are debating on purchasing this item then keep it in mind.
This mattress pad has held up well since we bought it about 2 months ago. It is however almost too thick, I think I would go down an inch in the future. The topper often times has to be readjusted because it starts to shift on the mattress, so make sure you have a deep pocket mattress pad and well fitting sheets to help keep the topper in place. Don’t expect to use the cover that comes with the topper for anything more than an extra layer to protect the foam it will not cover the mattress.
For the price this product is ok. We have had ours for about 9 months now, and you can tell where we sleep on it. It has conformed to our bodies. It is very soft and provides lots of cushion. I wouldnt say its the best bed topper, but if being used for a guest room, it would be fine.
I have bought 100’s of items from amazon over the years, this is my first review; THAT is how disappointed I am with this product.
I bought this thinking it was a 5.5lb density memory foam mattress. This is definitely NOT the case. It is more like 2lbs per foot dense. A queen size 4″ topper is 80″ x 60″ x 4″, thus it is 19,200 Cubic inches. To convert that into feet, divide that figure by 1,728 (12×12x12) = 11.11111 Cubic feet of foam. SO, at 5.5 lbs per cubic feet, this topper should way over 60 pounds. But, shipped, with box and cover, this weighs in at a scant 24 pounds!
For someone looking for a low density memory foam topper, this may be the one. But, for those of us that think the 5.5 used in the advertisement of this topper refers to the density of the foam, they will probably be disappointed.
